Loved this story. The chemistry was electric from the beginning. They beat all odds to be together. 4 Stars for me
Great read fast pace. Loved it, characters were great. Will read more by this author. Loved the details in the book.
This was my first Jane Porter book and I have to say I'm hooked! This was truly a romance book with a strong alpha hero and a vulnerable heroine. The story itself was captivating and well written. Since the summary is already written by another reviwer, I will just say that this is a must read.
From the Back The disobedient princess...

The royal plane is about to crash! Princess Chantal Thibaudet is rescued from the wreckage by Demetrius Mantheakis,a renowned international security expert, with wealth and a reputation to match. He insists that Chantal go with him to his private Greek island, where he can protect her.

But even princesses can become pregnant when they allow themselves to be swept away by a commoner - especially one as arrogant and sexy as Demetrius.... And a right royal scandal is about to break loose!

Review This is the 2nd in a trilogy and hits the perfect note in terms of character intigration from before. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride. The chacters are well drawn and their motives clearly understandable. For once the dilemma (the heroine's child is being essentially held hostage to ensure her actions) is one that's clearly understandable to the reader and not just in the mind of one of the characters. Jane Porter's clearly not your average harlequin writer and this is an great fast read.
A princess has to live by certain rules, always smile, always be polite, always dress the part and never do anything scandalous. Even when Princess Chantal's plane is going down, she keeps a level head. Her bodyguard, Demetrius, is sitting beside her and helps her through the ordeal by talking and distracting her. He has been secretly hired to protect her from threats made against her. She has no idea who he is until he takes her to his private island where she will be safe. All she wants is to be with her daughter, Lilly, who is being groomed to take over the island of La Croix as queen when she is older. Can Demetruis protect Chantal and reunite her with Lilly? Can he help her get past her late husband's abuse and make her see there are more good men in the world who will treat her with respect? Can he find the suspect who is sending the threats before someone gets hurts? I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters and the story was a fun read and escape from my everyday life.
Loved it and its sometimes rare you read in a harlequin present about a woman who is 30 but don't let that turn you off this is a really good book it draws you in and i can't wait to read about the last sister good book for you collection
This is a must read. The emotions in this story are strong, and pulls at ones heart. This book had action, lots of suspense, and romance. It was also a story that drew me in. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up late in the night, until I read the last page.
Before Chantal became Princess Chantal Thibaudet she was forced to sign a prenuptial agreement, along with other contracts. One contract she signed stated, if her husband ever died, Chantal was not allowed to marry, or date. she was to remain the faithful widow. If she and the prince ever had kids, that child would always remain in the country of La Croix. The child would be groomed to take the throne one day. As a newlywed you never think about death. It wasn't long before Chantal realized her husband Armand was mean. She wanted to leave, but found out she was carrying his baby. She was to be seen, but not heard. Latter on her husband died. Princess Chantal was content with carrying out her royal duties. She did it all for her little girl Lilly. Most of all she loved being a mom.

Everything changed inside her when she was in a plane crash. When the plane started breaking apart, something inside herself also broke loose. She had a voice, and was tired of following orders. She wanted more from life. Her in-laws ruled her with a iron fist, always threatening to take away her daughter.

During the flight body guard Demetrius was there to offer conversation, and comfort. He treated her like a person. She enjoyed connecting, and talking to him. He was there for her when the plane crashed. He thought the plane crash was a planned attempt on Chantal's life. Afterwards he took her to his private Greek island. Not only did the two connect in conversation, but they connected in other ways such as a steamy roll on the beach, minutes after the plane crashed. sex was a great way to release the stress, and tension of what the two had just gone through, and faced. It was a away to prove they were still alive, and that they made it.
Later on in the book Chantal found out she was pregnant. My heart ached for her. From the contract she signed before being Princess , she now had to chose between Lilly her 4 year old daughter, or the baby she was carrying. How can a mother choose? Is she chose to carry the baby, she would lose Lilly forever. Her in-laws would raise her as their own. Demetrius had been married once. His wife died before she could give birth to his daughter. He lost his wife, and daughter, and never dreamed he could get the chance to be a father again.

This was a moving story, that touched my heart. My heart ached for both Demetrius, and Chantal. The two did get a Happy ever after, but you got to read to see what they went through to get there. Demetrius was all Alpha male. Anyone would want him to be their very own body guard. Chantal lived to be silenced for years, following rules, and doing everything expectant of her. I was glad to see that she found her voice, and demanded to be heard. Great book!
This story was seductive, intriguing and interesting. I liked the guy too! Such a masterful greek... just my type, lol! Anyways I enjoyed this because it wasn't predictable and it was well done.
